Description
Nyamasheke coffee is a true gem from Rwanda, a country often called the "land of a thousand hills." Grown between 1,700 and 2,100 meters above sea level in the mountainous forests of the country’s west, this coffee draws its aromatic richness from fertile volcanic soil and a mild, humid climate—perfect conditions for cultivating high-altitude coffee.
While eastern Rwanda is covered with marshes and savannas, the western region is defined by lush highlands. It is here that many small-scale farmers carefully grow Red Bourbon arabica, a variety known for its refinement and smoothness. Supported by the Abizeraba cooperative, the farmers use traditional, sustainable methods, handpicking the cherries and washing them with pure spring water.
Rwanda Nyamasheke captivates with the subtlety of its aromatic profile. It reveals a delicate hint of black tea, enhanced by fruity notes reminiscent of apple and raisin. On the palate, its natural sweetness unfolds with a syrupy, silky texture that gently coats the taste buds, offering a delicate and harmonious tasting experience.
This high-altitude coffee embodies the elegance and precision of Rwanda’s specialty coffees. Perfectly balanced, it stands out for its complexity and softness—a true reflection of its unique terroir and the remarkable craftsmanship of its producers.
