Description
Bourgogne Terroir d'Exception 2022, the noble freshness of a characterful chardonnay
For lovers of precise, luminous white wines who seek the balance between aromatic lift and palate depth, this Bourgogne Terroir d’Exception 2022 represents a moment of pure elegance. From a confidential mid-slope parcel facing east, on Jurassic limestone and marls, neighbouring the illustrious Meursault Perrières, it embodies the grace of a chardonnay shaped by stone and time. Its golden colour catches the light, its nose blends lemon, juicy pear, delicate vanilla and toasted bread, and the palate unfolds a clear minerality, airy white flowers and a long saline finish. If you are looking for a gastronomic white that can accompany contemporary cuisine as well as classic Burgundian dishes, without heaviness or excessive oak, yet with real definition and a silky texture, this 2022 meets that expectation thanks to a careful ageing of 15 to 18 months on lees, with 25% new barrels, for exemplary overall harmony.
Emotion in the bottle, dedicated to your pleasure
- Mineral purity and controlled tension – A straight, crystalline thread that brings freshness, precision and length, ideal for enlivening pairings.
- Satin texture from lees ageing – A velvety mouthfeel, without weight, that wraps the palate and prolongs enjoyment.
- Balance of freshness and gourmandise – The brightness of lemon and white flowers meets a subtle vanilla roundness for immediate pleasure.
- Long saline finish – A sapid persistence that signatures great limestone terroirs and invites another sip.
- Close kinship with Meursault Perrières – A refined, distinguished style with a strong territorial expression, ready for fine cuisine.
Terroir, precision and meticulous ageing
Made from 100% chardonnay, this Bourgogne comes from a 0.87 ha parcel located mid-slope, east-facing, on a base of hard Jurassic limestone mixed with limestone scree and marls. This geological structure gives the wine its straightness, mineral resonance and energy. Vinification and ageing were carried out with care over 15 to 18 months in oak barrels, 25% new, on fine lees with light, measured bâtonnage. The aromatic profile expresses itself in a golden palette, led by notes of lemon, ripe pear, delicate vanilla and toasted bread. On the palate, freshness and balance dominate, minerality asserts itself, hints of white flowers unfold, the structure remains generous without excess, and the vanilla roundness integrates to serve a long, precise saline finish. Ideal serving temperature between 10 and 12 °C. Recommended to keep until 2029. Critic reference: 89-92/100 by Jasper Morris.
At the table, clear and inspired pairings
From aperitif to fresh dishes, this 2022 reveals great versatility. It shines with gougères, crunchy vegetables, delicate white fish, cold-served poultry, and pared-back cuisine where product quality is paramount. Its elegant tension enlivens an herb salad, complements a fish tartare or enhances a country terrine served chilled. On release, it charms with its brightness and measured gourmandise. After a few years, it gains complexity without losing its mineral verticality.
The reassuring difference, demanding quality that endures
The singularity of this Bourgogne lies in the meeting of an exceptional limestone terroir and precise ageing that respects the raw material. Close to the great climats of Meursault, it adopts their refined style with an accessible, elegant expression. Selected by Louvins for the straightness of its thread and the correctness of its oak treatment, it offers exemplary reliability for dinners, gifts and moments of sharing. Store it cool and away from light, serve between 10 and 12 °C, and let the magic happen. Quantities remain limited; the drinking window comfortably extends to 2029.
Invite a luminous expression of Burgundy to your table. Add this Terroir d’Exception 2022 to your cellar and treat yourself to the privilege of a precise, elegant and intensely gastronomic chardonnay.
