Slane Irish Whiskey embodies the true spirit of Irish craftsmanship. Matured in three distinct types of casks — virgin oak, seasoned oak and ex-bourbon barrels — it offers exceptional depth and smoothness. This triple cask aging reveals layers of caramel, vanilla, dried fruit and gentle spice. On the palate, it is rich, rounded and subtly oaky. Whether enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail, Slane delights with its perfect balance of warmth, sweetness and complexity.
Description
Born in the lush Boyne Valley in County Meath, Slane Irish Whiskey pays homage to Ireland’s centuries-old whiskey-making tradition. Crafted at the historic Slane Castle Estate, it blends heritage and modern mastery to create a whiskey of remarkable depth and character.
Blend and Distillation
Slane Irish Whiskey stands out for its unique triple cask maturation process. It is aged in three different types of barrels: - virgin American oak casks, adding structure and notes of vanilla; - seasoned sherry casks, contributing flavors of dried fruit and caramel; - ex-bourbon barrels, enhancing roundness and smooth sweetness. This meticulous aging process produces a perfectly balanced, accessible and richly layered Irish whiskey. Slowly distilled, it preserves the freshness of the grain while developing elegant complexity.
Tasting Notes
Its color is deep amber with golden highlights. On the nose, aromas of caramel, honey and toasted oak mingle with hints of ripe fruit and spice. The palate opens smoothly with creamy malt, vanilla, coffee and touches of dark chocolate. The finish is long, lightly oaked and delicately warm with lingering spice.
Serving Temperature and Tasting Advice
Enjoy between 16 and 18°C. Slane Irish Whiskey is best savored neat to appreciate its full richness or over ice for a softer experience. It also makes an excellent base for refined cocktails such as an Irish Coffee or a Whiskey Sour.
