Description
Heir to a refined style, the Louis Roederer, Collection 245 - Coffret Premium - Brut - Champagne AOC delivers a contemporary reading of the house’s expertise. Conceived as a work in motion, this cuvée blends the purity of a recent harvest with the memory of past years to produce a wine of great poise and finely carved precision. Its luminous colour, caressing effervescence and generous bouquet compose an aromatic landscape of notable intensity, where ripe fruit meets a perfectly controlled saline energy. Intended for aesthetes and the curious alike, it gracefully accompanies meaningful moments, from a tactfully arranged aperitif to high-cuisine pairings. Rated by international critics, including 92/100 from Vinous, it celebrates the French art of living with unassuming elegance.
Assemblage et vinification
This characterful Brut is born from a rigorous blend, combining Chardonnay (41%), Pinot Noir (35%) and Pinot Meunier (24%). The backbone mainly comes from the 2020 harvest, complemented by a perpetual reserve patiently built from 2012 to 2019, as well as a selection of reserve wines aged in oak between 2010 and 2019. This structure gives the wine its savory density, textural depth and that sense of continuity that marks great blends. The measured dosage of 7 g/L and a partial malolactic fermentation provide balanced comfort without ever compromising freshness. After an aging of about four years in the cellar, the ensemble gains complexity, length and precision. Thus is born a cuvée of balance, nourished by the memory of vintages and carried by the brilliance of the base year.
Notes de dégustation
- Colour : Bright golden yellow, crossed by fine, even bubbles that create a delicately persistent effervescence.
- Nose : Generous and finely chiselled, on nectarine and ripe lemon, accented by almond, floral hints and a subtle smoky nuance, evoking careful élevage and the patina of time.
- Palate : Broad, direct attack, creamy texture, a precise fruity thread on citrus and yellow fruits. The lifted finish stretches out on a fine salinity, promising structure and appetite appeal.
Température de service et conseils
Serve between 10 to 12°C in tulip glasses to honour the finesse of the effervescence and to release the full bouquet. A few minutes of aeration before serving helps refine the aromatic reading and round out the texture. Store bottles on their side, away from light, in a cool, stable place. This cuvée shows a cellaring potential of several years, during which it will gain complexity, toasty nuances and depth without losing its natural freshness.
Accords mets et vin
- Aperitifs : preserved lemon tartlets with zest, refined gougères, fine fish rillettes.
- Starters : scallop carpaccio, sea bream sashimi, white asparagus with a light almond sauce.
- Main courses : turbot with lemoned butter, free-range poultry with a short jus, herb and parmesan risotto.
- Cheeses : aged Comté, fresh tomme, Brillat-Savarin with truffle.
- Desserts : thin citrus tart, almond shortbread with nectarine, light vanilla-praline entremet.
