Description
The most poetic signature of the house, Amour de Deutz 2010 in magnum embodies the graceful expression of Chardonnay when it flourishes on the finest slopes of the Côte des Blancs. This vintage Blanc de Blancs draws from Grand Cru classified villages, combining crystalline finesse with tactile depth. The colour, a luminous pale gold, rises with an extremely delicate effervescence, while the bouquet, at first floral, opens to notes of white and yellow-fleshed fruit, punctuated by buttery and brioche-like touches. Designed for large gatherings and exceptional celebrations, the magnum format extends freshness and refines complexity over time. Presented in a luxury gift box, enhanced by a muselet designed by jeweller Pascal Morabito, this Deutz flagship celebrates the French art of living, between grace, restraint and contained intensity.
Blend and vinification
This champagne is a Blanc de Blancs made exclusively from Chardonnay harvested in 2010 on pure chalk soils, notably Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Cramant and Villers-Marmery. Patient ageing on lees, in the heart of the historic cellars, helps round the wine's contours, refine the bubbles and reveal a creamy texture. Vinification, conducted with a scrupulous sense of balance, favours purity, aromatic precision and mineral verticality, emblematic of these exceptional plots. Without technical ostentation but with artisan exactingness, the house preserves fruit freshness, saline straightness and overall harmony. Bottling in magnum promotes a slower, nobler evolution, ensuring extended cellaring potential, where floral notes gain breadth and pastry aromas intertwine with the fruit's sap.
Tasting Notes
- Appearance : Clear pale gold, animated by a very fine effervescence that draws delicate columns of bubbles. The brilliance and clarity announce a lively wine, both pure and generous, whose texture promises a silky caress on the palate.
- Nose : An initial floral burst of white flowers, honeysuckle and linden, then white and yellow-fleshed fruits, apples, pears, apricots and mirabelles. Elegant pastry hints, golden brioche and fresh butter, mingle with a chalky minerality, adding definition and precision. On aeration, fine reminiscences of citrus and almond contribute to the complexity.
- Palate : Generous, satiny attack, with an extremely delicate bead. The mid-palate combines fruity flesh and mineral tension in a sovereign balance, with a filigreed, long and persistent finish, driven by chiselled salinity and a sustained sense of freshness.
Serving temperature & tips
Serve between 10 et 12°C in tulip glasses to embrace the finesse of the effervescence and the complexity of the bouquet. Let the wine breathe a few minutes after opening to unfold its floral, fruity and pastry notes. The magnum format favouring a slow, measured evolution, the cuvée will gain nuances over the years, revealing greater depth. Store it on its side, away from light, in a cool, stable cellar. This cuvée contains sulfites, information to consider for sensitive persons.
