Description
Raised with the exacting standards that have made the House of Deutz renowned, the Brut Rosé Vintage 2019 offers a sensitive and precise expression of Champagne through the rosé lens. The vintage, sunny and controlled, produced grapes of great purity, promoting a clear fruit expression and vibrant energy. The selected parcels, chosen with patience, give this cuvée an aromatic architecture that is both generous and restrained. The colour hints at indulgence, the bouquet calls to mind a basket of red fruits with a delicate floral nuance, while the palate develops a juicy texture supported by a precise freshness and a subtly mineral thread. For the enthusiast seeking a nuanced vintage rosé, as well as the aesthete of gesture, this cuvée delivers a precise signature, equally seductive as an aperitif or at the table, and comes in a gift box, ready to enhance the moment or to be offered.
Blend and winemaking
This vintage rosé Champagne is built on a majority Pinot Noir blend, complemented by Chardonnay, with approximately 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. The grapes come from emblematic terroirs of the region, including Avenay Val d'Or, Bergères-lès-Vertus, Mareuil-sur-Ay, Aÿ, Bouzy, Vertus, Cumières, Tauxières and Ludes. The tirage was carried out on 17 June 2020, and the cuvée then rested a minimum of five years on the lees in the cellar to gain complexity and harmony. Ageing is conducted in tank to preserve the purity of the fruit, with malolactic fermentation completed, ensuring a softer, rounder texture. The Brut dosage is set within a balanced range, between 6 and 12 g/l, to deliver a generous style without weighing the wine down. Each step aims for precision, aromatic brightness and a length that defines the vintage.
Tasting notes
- Appearance : Deep pink with salmon highlights, bright, crossed by a fine, regular effervescence that announces a delicate texture.
- Nose : Generous and expressive, it evokes ripe strawberry, cherry and blackcurrant, joined by redcurrant jelly, a hint of vine peach and a breath of old rose.
- Palate : Clean and ample attack, juicy matter with notes of raspberry and Morello cherry, supported by precise freshness and a mineral touch. Long finish, combining fleshy red fruits, a fine bitter chocolate note and delicate floral nuances.
Serving temperature and tips
Serve between 9 and 11°C in tulip glasses to enhance the expression of red fruit aromas and the finesse of the effervescence. A short opening time, a few minutes before serving, allows the floral dimension to unfold and the texture to gain creaminess. Store bottles on their side, protected from light and temperature variations. This vintage has a cellaring potential of 7 to 10 years, evolving towards more complex nuances without losing its primary energy. At the table, choose delicate pairings to highlight its structure and poise.
Food pairings
- Aperitifs : small salmon bites, confit tomato tartlets, Comté gougères, thinly sliced Parma ham.
- Starters : scallop carpaccio with citrus, tuna tartare, sea bream ceviche, lobster salad with discreet red fruits.
- Mains : roast herb chicken, tender veal, monkfish medallion with reduced jus, risotto with seasonal mushrooms.
- Cheeses : truffle brie, aged tomme, young Comté with hazelnut notes, whose gentle character respects the wine's fruit.
- Desserts : lightly sweetened strawberry cake, thin raspberry tart, pavlova with red fruits, where the wine's freshness finds a perfect counterpoint.
