Aged 9 years in 1st and 2nd fill oloroso sherry butts, it is bottled at a robust 57.1% ABV, inspired by the traditional British “Navy Strength”.

Production and Maturation

Founded in 1846, Caol Ila Distillery overlooks the strait of the same name, also known as the Sound of Islay. Famous for its finely balanced smoky and maritime whiskies, Caol Ila has long contributed to Johnnie Walker blends. This 2015 vintage exemplifies the distillery’s signature peat character, elevated by sherry cask maturation that adds richness, spice and depth.
