€22.67 /L
This 2014 Saint-Émilion Grand Cru offers depth, structure and finesse. Aged in oak, it reveals aromas of ripe black fruits, spice and refined tannins. A distinguished red wine from Bordeaux’s Right Bank, ideal with roasted meats, mature cheeses or special occasions. Drink now or cellar up to 2030.
Description
Crafted on the legendary Right Bank of Bordeaux, Tour du Sème 2014 embodies the heritage and richness of the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation. This red wine is made primarily from Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, and aged in French oak barrels to express the full depth of the vintage.
The vineyard lies on clay-limestone soils ideal for producing balanced and age-worthy reds. Despite a challenging start to the year, the 2014 vintage enjoyed an excellent Indian summer, allowing for optimal ripeness and elegant structure. The result is a refined, complex wine with great aging potential.
Tasting notes
Deep garnet colour with ruby highlights. The nose is expressive, offering aromas of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, plum), warm spices, blond tobacco and toasted oak. On the palate, it’s full and smooth, with silky tannins and a long, harmonious finish featuring hints of liquorice, leather and mineral undertones.
Serving temperature and advice
Serve between 17 and 18°C (62–64°F) after one hour of decanting. Best enjoyed from now through 2030. Use large red wine glasses (Bordeaux type) to allow full aromatic expression.
Food pairings
This Grand Cru pairs wonderfully with:
- Roasted duck breast with figs or honey glaze
- Grilled or dry-aged ribeye steak
- Mature cheeses (Comté, aged sheep’s milk cheese, Cantal)
