Description
Symbol of sparkling elegance, the Veuve Clicquot - Brut Carte Jaune - Etui Ice Box - Champagne AOP joins your most memorable moments of conviviality and gives them a distinctive aura. A flagship cuvée from the house, it pairs the precision of a blend from multiple crus with a fine effervescence that caresses the palate, while its Ice Box case, delicately inspired by origami, transforms into a portable bucket. The union of useful and beautiful, designed for those who enjoy celebrating the present moment without sacrificing refinement. From a stylish aperitif to an impromptu dinner, this exceptional creation elevates the ordinary and reveals the French art of living, with perfectly controlled freshness, a luminous aromatic thread and a long, upright, savoury finish. Brut Carte Jaune thus asserts itself as an essential both in your cellar and on your outings, ready to sign every toast with a clear, precise signature.
Blend and winemaking
Made from 50 to 60 crus, Brut Carte Jaune draws its consistency and character from the subtle art of blending. The dominance of Pinot Noir gives it structure and intensity, while Chardonnay contributes a filigree of finesse and purity. A touch of Pinot Meunier wraps the whole in a seductive roundness. To preserve the house style identity over the years, 30 to 45% reserve wines are included in the composition, ensuring balance and depth. The wine then rests in the chalk cellars, where it ages for a minimum of 3 years before disgorgement, the time needed to soften contours and unfurl the aromatic palette. Its Brut dosage is kept in fair measure, typically between 6 and 12 g/L, to magnify freshness without masking the fruit's bite. Altogether it delivers a precise, vibrant champagne, with an immediately recognisable signature and impeccable presence in glass as at the table.
Tasting notes
- Appearance : Bright golden yellow, traversed by a string of fine, regular bubbles that herald a pure and elegant palate.
- Nose : Initial notes of white fruit and vine peach, followed by dried fruit, hazelnut and delicate brioche hints. Touches of citrus and white flower sketch a lively, clean and refined bouquet.
- Palate : A frank, fresh attack; the mid-palate is structured by Pinot Noir, driven by a lemony tension and a silky texture. The balance stretches into a precise length, between generous fruit and saline minerality, for a persistent and perfectly controlled finish.
Serving temperature and tips
Serve between 8 and 9 °C to unveil the finesse of the effervescence and the aromatic precision. The Ice Box assembles in a single movement and, with a few ice cubes, chills then maintains your bottle at the perfect temperature throughout tasting. Ideal for outings, terraces and on-the-go aperitifs, it marries aesthetics and functionality without compromise. Prefer tulip glasses to concentrate the aromas and let the bubble develop. Open just before serving to preserve the bouquet. Store the bottle at rest, away from light, and serve gently to preserve the effervescence, the hallmark of both immediate pleasure and mouthfeel persistence.
Food pairings
- Aperitifs : comté gougères, fine oysters, truffled cooked ham, parmesan cream tartlets.
- Starters : scallop carpaccio, gilthead bream ceviche with citrus, abalone or marinated salmon tartare, white asparagus with mousseline sauce.
- Main courses : herb-roasted poultry, seasonal mushroom risotto, sole meunière fillets, sushi and sashimi for texture and purity pairings.
- Cheeses : young comté, aged goat tomme, 18-month Parmesan, soft-ripened brie served lightly chilled.
- Desserts : thin citrus tart, hazelnut financier, vanilla shortbread, lightly sweetened white fruit pavlova to preserve balance.
Occasions
Brut Carte Jaune in its Ice Box is the ideal companion for moments that matter, when elegance wishes to be discreet yet decisive. It accompanies spontaneous meet-ups as much as carefully orchestrated gatherings, always with that sparkling grace that elevates the moment.
- For a chic, on-the-go aperitif, where the bucket unfolds in one movement and delivers an impeccable presentation.
