Description
The first rosé created by a Champagne house, Ruinart Brut Rosé Seconde Peau offers a luminous and contemporary interpretation of rosé Champagne. This cuvée is intended for enthusiasts who appreciate the precision of a great blend, as well as for those wishing to bring a presence of rare distinction to a carefully chosen table. It naturally takes its place as an aperitif, at the heart of a delicate dinner or during a celebration where every detail deserves attention. The Ruinart signature is revealed here through a subtle dialogue between the structure of Pinot Noir and the airy grace of Chardonnay. The Seconde Peau case, designed with an eco-conscious approach, completes the experience with sculptural simplicity. More than a bottle, this 75 cl Champagne AOC invites you to turn a shared moment into a delicious, refined and truly memorable occasion.
Blend and winemaking
Ruinart Brut Rosé is based on a blend of approximately 55% Pinot Noir, part of which is vinified as a red wine, and 45% Chardonnay. This composition gives the cuvée its distinctive character: Pinot Noir brings a fruity foundation, roundness and delicate structure, while Chardonnay defines the freshness, finesse and drive of the blend. Extended ageing in the cellar then polishes the texture and enriches the aromatic expression. The result is a balanced brut rosé Champagne, in which intensity never overshadows elegance. With a dosage of approximately 7 g/L, the cuvée preserves a clear sense of freshness while allowing the fruit and supple palate to unfold. Each sip therefore seems composed with the precision of a miniature, combining energy, delicacy and depth.
Tasting notes
- Appearance: bright pale salmon with copper and coral highlights, enlivened by fine, persistent bubbles.
- Nose: an expressive bouquet of fresh strawberries, raspberries and cherries, joined by citrus, rose petals, hints of exotic fruit and a touch of spice.
- Palate: the opening is lively and fresh, before giving way to harmonious roundness. The persistent finish unfolds a fruity and floral signature of great elegance.
Serving temperature and recommendations
Serve this Champagne between 8 and 10 °C, ideally at around 9 °C, to preserve the brilliance of the fruit and the finesse of its effervescence. A tulip-shaped glass is particularly recommended: its shape allows the aromas of red fruit, citrus and rose to develop with greater precision, while accompanying the evolution of the texture on the palate. This cuvée is best enjoyed attentively, from the first bubbles through to a few moments of rest in the glass. Its initial freshness then reveals a more enveloping and nuanced texture. The Seconde Peau case, both protective and refined, also makes it an elegant gift to present at a meal, birthday or intimate reception.
Food pairings
- Appetisers: smoked salmon bites, sushi or caviar, highlighting the cuvée’s saline freshness and delicate fruit character.
- Starters: beef carpaccio, sea bass ceviche or generous citrus salads, in a refined interplay of liveliness and texture.
- Main courses: roast poultry, mushroom risotto or rare-cooked tuna, pairings that embrace its roundness without dimming its brilliance.
- Cheeses: Brie, Chaource and other soft-ripened cheeses with bloomy rinds, for a creamy and delicately fruity pairing.
- Desserts: red berry tart, raspberry macarons or candied citrus, echoing its floral and indulgent aromatic palette.
Occasions for enjoyment
Ruinart Brut Rosé Seconde Peau accompanies moments that call for understated elegance. It elevates an aperitif at sunset, lends a celebratory dinner a more luminous character and turns an intimate tête-à-tête into a precious memory. Its fresh and generous profile makes it enjoyable from the very first mouthful and throughout a carefully prepared meal. Presented in its Seconde Peau packaging, it also makes an exceptional gift, whether to say thank you, celebrate or mark an important occasion. In the spirit of Maison Ruinart, this cuvée combines the art of hospitality, the pleasure of sharing and a commitment to more responsible luxury.
