Description
Under the seal of a luminous year, the Louis Roederer, Rosé Vintage 2017 unfolds a couture vision of rosé champagne. Born from selected slopes in the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs, it pairs the intensity of Pinot Noir with the crystalline drive of Chardonnay. The house presents here a light, vibrant interpretation of fruit, carried by a delicate effervescence and a graceful salinity that recall the chalk of Champagne’s subsoils. The infusion method, based on a skin-contact maceration of the Pinot Noirs, yields a framework of fine spices, berries and citrus, while extended lees ageing sculpts a caressing texture. Presented in a premium box, this vintage Brut combines aesthetics and substance, appealing both to connoisseurs seeking precision and to epicureans wishing to elevate a shared moment.
Assemblage et vinification
Made predominantly from Pinot Noir and complemented by Chardonnay (approximately 60% and 40% depending on the selection), the Rosé Vintage 2017 is produced using the infusion method with skin-contact maceration of the Pinot Noirs to extract colour, spice and silky tannins without weighing down the palate. A portion of the base wines, close to one third aged in oak barrels, brings volume, complexity and a subtle patina. Malolactic fermentation is carried out only partially, preserving the vintage’s energy and fruity brightness. The Brut dosage at 8 g/l ensures a gastronomic, clean and precise balance. The selected terroirs, including the Côte des Blancs, the Vallée de la Marne, Chouilly and Cumières, give the wine its chalky lift and upright character. A 4 to 5 years ageing on lees, followed by at least 6 months after disgorgement, calms the bubble and weaves a velvety texture.
Notes de dégustation
- Appearance: Golden pink with luminous highlights, crossed by a fine, persistent effervescence, promising an elegant palate.
- Nose: Wild strawberry, fresh raspberry and redcurrant, lifted by citrus zests, a hint of orange blossom, white spices and a mineral, iodised breath.
- Palate: Clean, creamy attack developing into a broad then driven structure. Salinity refines the finish, long and savoury, on red berries, citrus and a spicy note.
Température de service et conseils
Serve between 6 and 8°C in tulip glasses that enhance the finesse of the bubble and aromatic complexity. Avoid serving too cold so as not to mute the fruit and spice nuances. Let the wine open in the glass for a few moments, it will gain in relief and silkiness. Store the bottle in a calm place, away from light and temperature variations, lying down to keep the cork moist. This rosé cuvée has a fine capacity for evolution, refining its spicy notes and powdery texture over time without losing the uprightness that defines it.
Accords mets et vin
- Aperitifs: tomato confit and basil tartlets, citrus-cured salmon, delicate tarama on brioche toast.
- Starters: scallop carpaccio, sea bream ceviche, sesame tuna tartare.
- Main courses: roasted langoustines with lemon butter, farm‑raised poultry with mild spices, crustacean risotto.
- Cheeses: young Comté, Chaource, matured soft-textured Tomme.
- Desserts: lightly sugared strawberries, thin citrus tart, almond and raspberry biscuit.
